Our History
Flying Hogmonkey Films is an award winning independent film studio based in the San Francisco Bay Area. It started with writer/filmmaker Saurav Mohapatra and his desire to tell stories that spanned his interests in genre fiction as well as the immigrant identity and the neuro-divergent cognitive experience.
Saurav's embrace of the scrappy and lean guerilla filmmaking techniques, in order to be able to create and present these stories with minimal crew and expense, created the unique voice and flavor of Flying Hogmonkey Films' offerings.
Years later, our equipment has improved, but our core mission remains the same. We are a collective of writers, directors, producers, and artists committed to bringing unique, character-driven narratives to the screen. We believe in taking risks, challenging perspectives, and creating films that linger in your thoughts long after the credits roll.
Our Mission
To produce thought-provoking and visually compelling films that challenge audiences, champion unique voices, and prove that powerful stories can come from anywhere.
Our Manifesto
- We believe in story above all else.
- We believe in taking creative risks.
- We believe in collaboration and respect.
- We believe a small team can make a big impact.
- We believe in films that start conversations.
